    AC compatability

Does anyone know if the AC system in an 89 montero is exactly the same as an 89 PU? I found a montero in the junk yard with the complete system for 225$. I would like to put it in my PU. Both have the 3.0L Thanks

I would think the compressor and engine brackets are the same; the difference should probably be in the hoses to connect the compressor to the evap and condensor. The A/C controls may be another problem. That seems a lot for the whole system unless they are pulling it; be sure to get all the extra pulleys and tensioners from the front of the block, the A/C compressor needs an extra pulley on the crank to spin it.

Check out car-part.com and search the whole country for salvagers that mighty have what you need. I'm sure you could get it for much cheaper but who knows.
