Hello,
I'm new to the forum. I'm trying to change the spring cover (shifter boot) in the manual shifter of my ram 50. Has anyone done this? or knows what is the easiest way to disassemble the shifter assembly to put the new boot on?
Thanks.

Does this help?
He may mean the boot wired on at the base of the shifter instead of the overboot that attaches to the floor...

in that case it is a bit harder. been there done that...I got admoinished for dumping oil on the track... I knew i didn't have any leaks... found that the inside boot was weather cracked and during the hard launches the gear oil was spilling out thru said cracks...replaced, no more oil on the track...still has to go on over the shifter it will stretch uses some gear lube. Three 10 MM bolts hold everything down to the Tranny...seal with your favorite Silicone sealer after cleaning everything up.
