I am a 1st gen guy (so i hope this helps) & I believe the mechanical pump is labeled "out"...but basically you have 3 lines: feed from tank, return to tank, & vapor/emission return to tank. follow route of each line & you should be able to figure which is feed.

Thank god for for gen guys...I'm one too!

I have an 87 Dodge Ram 50 2.0 with weber 32/36 and stock mechanical fuel pump. When you remove the old carb you have three fuel lines. 2 lines are from the pump and one feeds back to the tank. Hook the to carb line to the fuel port on the weber and to tank line to the fuel return port on the pump.

Ummm the picture shows a push rod. I never had one. Would that make it a second gen, or a 2.0L
I still think we should have 2 first gens.
To me it should go first gen 79 to 84
late model first gen 85 to 89
then second gen. There is just so much that changed.

just a word of caution if your going to run it with the stock fuel pump you need to place a fuel pressure regulator between your fuel pump and the carb. its been a long time since i did mine but the weber carb can only handle a max of 3.5psi. any more and it will blow out seals in your carb. do not run it without a regulator or you will damage you carb. i had to learn this the hard way with my first weber. good luck with your install

would running stock fuel pump to weber cause it to run rich without a regulator?

I would say it could. In my case I got so much fuel I was getting ring wash and loosing oil pressure due to thinned oil. This was due to the damaged carb leaking excess fuel in to the engine.

what brand fpr is that???
