    first gen 86 repairs

I am new to this site and if I mess up I am sorry. I looked around for a while trying to find manuals and or a step by step on how to set the timing on my 1986 ram 50 2.0l engine. The water pump blew and I guess the timing belt had been old because it jumped. I couldnt set timing by adjusting distributor. So when i pulled everything off the front I found the water pump shaft was worn out pretty bad. I have looked on this site and others but what I need is a step by step on setting timing and some pics if possible.

Thanks for any help given from the community!

Check the menu and visit the link, see if that helps you. http://www.mightyram50.net/vbulletin...G64-5-spd-D-50

I posted plenty of pictures. Timing belt specifically http://www.mightyram50.net/vbulletin...ll=1#post26675 though this is for a 2nd generation.

ok real quick, I have searched this site over and over and haven't seen anyone who has put a 225 slant 6 in there truck. I was thinking of doing this as a friend has given me one complete with transmision. I have it set on a stand and last night we did a dry run. This thing sounds beautiful!!! was wondering if anyone had any tips on installing this in my 86?

Get a welder and stick that thing in there. You will need to use an electric fan as you will run out of room pretty quick.

in addition to Camoit, you probably can stick the fan in front of radiator if room is an issue.
