    1st gen mighty max (1986) 4g63 swap

Hello guys, I'm new to this forum and I was wondering if a 4g63 swap is easily done on the 1st gen trucks. I've seen a lot about the other body style trucks but I can't seem to find anything about the 1st gen swaps. My truck has the g63b in it. When I plan to do the swap I plan to use a 1g 6 bolt. Will I have to do any fab to my motor mounts, and where do I find a "wideblock" 4g63? Any info is appreciated. Thank you.

It is going to be exactly the same as the 2nd gen trucks. Same mods to fit it. Check my build threadnornthe other dohc swap thread for info on what needs to be done. Not sure on a wide block 4g63 but the auto tranny truck 2.0s were wide block g63b's.

I *think* the only narrowblock trans on the 1st gen was the RWD 5 speed, but only with the 2.0 (G63B) but don't quote me on that. Check out Project Zero G and Hot Rod Coffee Shop, too, there's a ton of information and smart people who've done these swaps between these 3 boards.

That is close - the g63b is a narrow block for all trannies thru 86, all 3 speed autos are narrow blocks 2.0 or 2.6. There was also a 4 speed manual that was a narrow block on the 83 - 86 g63b motor. The 4g63 motor will bolt up to any narrow block tranny.
