    New member!

New member here. Don't have the truck.. YET. I'm picking up a 1990 mighty max v6 4x4 tomorrow. Went to look at it today. It's in... okay.. condition. Seats are completely shot. exterior is good except for one area on the passenger side side skirt... or side molding (w/e u call it) but i may just rip those off anyways.

body has about 328k miles on it. was used as a highway truck. rebuilt motor/tranny and new clutch has about 25k on it. It drives very well, 4wd works perfectly.

the price seems okay to me. what do you guys think? ive been trying to find a v6 4x4 for a while now. They are so rare! (atleast to me)

    pics will come soon.

also... does anybody have any experience with the 3in body lift by jc whitney. I don't want to go all crazy lifting it yet. But don't want it to sit so low either.

here's a picture of what the guy posted. 00n0n_aeAOOfqbui0_600x450.jpg super excited. Also It's going to change into my main daily, so I don't have to drive my highly modded 08 cobalt SS every day.

    Hi,
Getting an early start on the truck I see. You should check for to see if the truck has any recalls on it that haven't been filled. Not sure if you have any smog laws that's may stand in the way of registration and what not. Check to see if that engine has interference pistons and valves in case a timing belt breaks. Here are some NADA prices that are a starting ground for the vehicle prices. It's a general area to work with. There probably is someone in here that knows about lift kits. You may find a more reasonable kit also somewhere else. Try Ebay and Rock Auto and Google maybe. Lift kits are pretty basic also, Just like lowering kits.

The very first things you want to do is change the timing belt and fuel filters.

I think that is a torque flight if I'm not mistaken.

I couldn't find anything on the rear diff. I read that you can also find it on the firewall in the engine bay, listed as "transaxle" but this is all I could find.

i'm still learning about the truck. I've always wanted a small 4x4 truck, and have been looking for a while for a v6. I know the 4cyl are nice too, but I wanted something with a little more....oomph. :]

The truck drives awesome. I actually just picked it up yesterday. The only thing i see wrong with it is that the guy before me(he only had the truck for about 3 months)had a ''stereo system'' rigged up, that no longer works, although he said it was just working. Also the head lights and horn stopped working. So i'm not sure if it was wired somewhere in that system (although that'd be pretty dumb) shouldn't be too hard to figure out the head lights atleast. The horn may just be broken, and i may have to replace that. Not too difficult either. It needs a couple things.

Great little truck though. Just have to get used to how close the pedals are! I have an 08 cobalt SS that i usually drive (the truck will turn into my daily now) and man, so much difference.

Congrats on your new acquisition ! I have a 90 and a 91 MM 4x4, both have been great trucks. I did put buckets in the 90 which is my daily driver and updated both to the 94 and newer front bumper but otherwise they are stock. Super dependable!

what bucket seats did you put in? im thinking about doing this. the bench seat to me doesn't ''hold you'' very well.

If the stereo stopped working but the fuses look good try turning the knob for the dash dimmer. The dimmer cut off a bunch of stuff in mine when it was all the way turned off. It controls the neg to the radio and dash lights
