    Rear Brake Lines

The upper rear brake line on the drivers side sprung a leak on my son's 89 Power Ram 50. What size tubing do I need to fix, 6mm?

If you can pull the tube off you can have it fixed. They will just cut the line at hole, flair it and put in a union.

The pinholes are just after the nut where it goes into the backing plate and I cannot get that nut to move.

Thats a bad spot. No matter what,, it's going to be a mess. At the worst you will need to just cut the line and replace the wheel cylinder. Napa or some place should be able to get the line and cylinder for you. There must be a place near you that can make the line up for you, if you bring them the line, only if you don't have the tools to do it. You will need tubing wrenches at the very least. Otherwise you will just strip the nut on the other side and then be forced to vice grip it.

I had an 1988 Ram 50 2wd that the line sprung a leak after I fixed the fuel line. Ended up replacing the line from the master all the way back to the axle, the lines on the axle, and both wheel cylinders. With that year, the line goes in the top of the wheel cylinder, then goes out the bottom to the other wheel cylinder - both cylinders bleed from the pass side. If you haven't changed the fuel line yet, expect to change that too once you disturb it to fix the brake line.

Browsing threads, (For a $25. deposit or you can keep the tool) Autozone loans out double flairing tools for standard and metric. After a few trial flairs you catch on. You can buy a tube bender cheap, it's really easy to do yourself.
