You can put in any engine and trans combination you want as long as you have the skills to fab it in there.

Humm a Dodge 4.7L V8 with a 6 speed..........

dodge 4.7s are notorious for dropping valve seats, low on power, and are gas hogs. Get the new pentastar v6 - 295 horse,can be 6 spd, and much better engine.

I have a 1980 D50 with a 340 in it. It should not be any different than a 88 model.
