    Pull with transmission or not?

For those of you who have done it, is it easier to pull the engine with the tranny or without?

My truck is the 1985 Mighty max with the 4d55t.

By easier, I mean which requires less time?

    Thanks, Kyle

Depends if you have a good enough lift... i have not done it on one of those trucks but you need a lift that will go pretty high in order for the trans to clear everything unless you pull the rad support which would clearly make things easier....... Personally i would pull the drive-line and then the engine..... Im sure someone will chime in that has done it on your truck though.

Pull engine and drop trany if you need it out with the engine. Or do what coyote said and get a cherry picker and lift it all. It will be very heavy with both and you will have to separate them both anyway. Separating out of truck is a pain to do, so might as well split them, then remove them each at a time.

Engine is pulled! Took less then an hour. This is one of the benefits to simplicity in the engine bay. The engine is getting a full rebuild so stay tuned for a new thread on that.

Also, off the top of anyones head, what is the bolt type for the engine to tranny bolts? I need to pick up longer bolts so I can use my engine stand.
