Question Will tightening my torsion bars lift my 89 Ram 50?

I just recently watch a video on tightening torsion bars on a ram 1500 and it gave a 2" lift to the front. Is it capable of being done on an 89 Ram 50?

Yes,unless your bars are tightened all the way already. Tighten torsions to lift, loosen to lower it, this applies to all vehicles with torsion bars. I don't think you will get 2" on these trucks, maybe 1".

Yes it will lift it. It will also become very stiff and you might lose upper/rebound travel completely. It will also knock your alignment out. It's one of the oldest tricks in the book.

I don't know for sure on the MM, but multi splined torsion bars (not the hex styles) can be indexed by removing them, Clocking them one way or the other, then reinstalling them. This will give more comfort and control (not so stiff), but will still knock the alignment out.
