    alternator question

hey i have a 88 power ram 50 2.6 4wd and need to replace the alternator was wondering if i could swap it for a more beefed up alternator that would better suit my needs i find them for caravans in the 200 amp range... what should i be searching up if i want a direct swap/fit h/o alternator ?

    certainly can, I replaced my 86 alt @45amps with a 100amp.

Here are some images on the change. I did have to make some minor mods, but nothing that can't be done in an hour. It makes a hell of a difference when the lights are on at night. That's what I noticed most.

I did a write up somewhere on this site, I would have to look for it, but it explained what I had to do.

I swapped my 90 mighty max alt out for a 90 mitsu van alt. it is an exact swap. No mods. I think it's a 75amp alt

Im not sure where on here but i believe pennyman did a write up about using a small case g.m. Alt from like a saturn or cavalier with some internal mods.
