    Very nice pick up from your friend on that engine. You must have a good friend there and that is the way to do it for sure. You know the history of the engine now and you'll also have some mechanical information from him as well if you have any issues with it later on. Keep posting your progress, we are watching.

    that's the stupid leak from the torque converter. That's why I'm changing it out this winter.

    Pulled the block and tranny today pressure washed everything down, started paint gonna go with the red and black motor once I start putting it together still debating on 5 speed or automatic. 20131109_153949.jpg20131109_195959.jpg

    Yea thats my brother from another mother, best man at my wedding work right beside him all day good dude, helped him pull that motor out of his grampa's truck about a year ago, he had to go bigger for his boat he has a 22ft center console about 5000lbs dry plus trailer fuel and our beer when we go that 302 was having to work, 390 will be alot better

    And fordubishi you are the man, you said you had a c4 right? Is that the stock crossmember location?

    I use an AOD but a C4 will fit the trans tunnel with no cutting or very slight mods with a BFH (Big F'n Hammer)to the front of the tunnel. The AOD is a 13" Converter so the bell housing is huge, the C4 is an 10 or 11" Converter so the bell housing is much smaller. yep that's the factory location, I was able to locate the 6 holes on the back of the factory frame mount then added the wings on the front of the flat bar to put the other 6 bolts on it. The front middle factory nuts are stripped so I didn't put bolts in as I figured 10 bolts would hold it in.

    Your engine bay looks great!
    I don't have to bad of problem pulling this with the 2.0L. Should be a lot better now that I added some mods though.
