    antique tags/original owner

My '87 2 wd standard cab sport 2.6 just got antique tags. I bought this new in '87. It's been sitting in the lower driveway for a couple of years. Put antique tags on it so I didn't have to move it. Last time it ran it went for about 6 months, then blew the old valve seals and smoked up an intersection. 2 quarts of oil to get it the last 12 miles home. Parked it, did a compression test, and pulled the head. No cracks in the head so I had it rebuilt. Slapped new rings and rod bearings in it and retreived the fresh head from the machine shop. I'm now trying to get the cam installed, but ran into a problem with the "rock auto" cam bearings. They don't fit. So here I am. How you guys doin'? Anybody else runnin' a rat ride? More of this post under the proper section.

the 2.6 head doesn't have cam bearings - to put them in, the head must be bored to use them - welcome to the forum.
