2008 mitsubishi galant 2.4 soon to be turbo

this is my friends car that he wants to turn turbo and switch it to a 5 speed transmission.

as far as i can find there are no 2.4 liter manual transmission 2008 galant's. the V6 version comes with a manual but the 4 cylinder model does not.

here's what's currently been done to the car:

-tuned header with 2.75 inch stainlees steel exhaust

    -2008 gt eclipse throttle body
    2013-06-14 19.37.49.jpg
-replaced rear lower control arms with ones from a 2008 eclipse and installed an adjustable sway bar
    2013-06-14 22.52.20.jpg2013-06-14 22.52.40.jpgIMAG0239.jpgIMAG0240.jpg
-cross drilled and slotted rotors with hawk hps ferro-carbon composite pads
    2013-06-14 19.24.54.jpg
    -injen stainless intake tube
    2013-06-14 19.37.23.jpg
    -underdrive pulley's (sorry, no picture)

all this stuff was before he decided to go turbo. currently the car does 16.4 in the quarter mile at 86 mph. not too bad for a basically stock car. my friend is trying for a 10 second quarter mile now... and it's up to me to figure out how to do it with the 4g69 that's in it. i've got a few idea's of my own but i would like to hear input from others. the target horsepower is 400.

Make it RWD and drop in a V6 Turbo out of a Talon

i agree with you there ford, but, the customer gets what the customer wants. he wants it to be the 4 cylinder so i'm gonna make it happen. i also have advised him that making it rear wheel drive would be fairly easy and it would be really cool. he wants front wheel drive, but we'll see what happens later on.

i have a decent budget to work with so my the plan for this 4g69 mivec motor is:
-4g63 mivec head from an evo 6 (reason for the evo 6 head is because the mivec is computer controlled not oil pressure activated and there are soooo many options available for it)
-evo 8 rods (they bolt srtaight up to the 4g69 crank)
    -87.5 mm pistons from wiseco
-evo 8 and 9 waterpumps fit this block like a glove with no modifications required
-balance shaft delete kit from a 4g63 (works on 4g69)
-keeping the stock crank since it is both strong and lite and the evo 8 rods are will work on it... and according to mitsubishi themselves, it will handle the amount of boost that will be required for 400 horses.
-gt35r t3 turbo (not sure if i should go water cooled or stick with oil cooled?)
    -800cc evo 9 fuel injectors
-gonna use a blow through maf and and 3 bar map sensors
-having the stock ecu reprogrammed for full plug and play capabilities (i can't remember the name of the company that does it right now but it's up in canada. they come highly recommended by the high-end tuning shops here in portland)

that's about all for now. will put up pictures when the parts start coming in.

how about the trans and driveline from an 06 outlander AWD 5spd? they had a 4g69 mounted "backwards" too. he will want to ditch FWD the first time he drives it with over 300hp

They didn't make a mivec evo 6, only on the evo 9,you can use the evo 8 head and block oil feed for the mivec or use the evo 9 head. the transmission is strong enough for 10 second runs, you can use any 7 bolt rod on that engine dsm or evo

i meant to say evo 9 head when i was listing the parts. currently in the parts acquisition stage and will have some pictures before long. i can't wait to strip the motor and get it to the machine shop so we can start putting it back together. lots to do this winter.
