Got an 88 ram50 with a 2.6l 5 speed, and was wondering if I can just remove the egr valve as it no longer functions.

If you don't need to go through emissions testing, then yes. You will need to either buy or fabricate a blocking plate for the large hole it leaves behind.
You can also just disconnect the vacuum lines to it and cap them off at the source, leaving the EGR in place.
101propose on ebay has a machined cover plate for I think 16.99, or look under starion / conquest egr

thanks blocking off the hole and vac line is no problem for me
I have an 85 Power Ram 50, 2.6L gas. I wanted to confirm that the Starion plate is a correct fit. I messaged the seller and he said he didn't know. There are also cheaper plates that look very similar, for the Montero, etc. Can anyone tell me if these fit?
