I have 88 ram50 4x4 auto (km148) in which the overdrive if thats what it is is not working. Theres no response when button on shift is depressed, how do you test the electrical side?

there is a sensor near the carb on the intake that when the engine is at operating temp, it allows the tranny to go into overdrive. It is a common fail item - you can just take that wire to a ground point on the intake and you will have o/d all the time unless you turn it off with the button on the shifter.

Thanks for the info, I been trying to trace wiring without much luck. I replaced the carb and got rid all the vac lines etc. I'll get back on it this evening thanks again.
