    Dodge Raider question

Hello everyone... I have the chance to pick up a 1987 Dodge Raider for $500. Only issues are that he thinks the tranny is going out. Ive never rebuilt one but could probably do it. My question is does anyone know if a transmission out of a 2wd ram50, montero, or mighty max will fit? Again, I don't know a lot about transmissions so this may be a stupid question. I may need to find one out of a 4wd vehicle rather than a 2wd. Thanks

I think the montero is what will fit. IDK what year of Montero but you can start by looking through here. http://wikicars.org/en/Dodge_Raider

Dodge Raider = Mitsubishi Montero. The differences are 1 character in the VIN, the badging, a sticker in on the steering wheel, black bumpers only and the flat black from the A- to C-piller. The Dodge Raider was sold at the time Chrysler practiced badge-engineering. The MM / Ram (again same) trans will not work due to cable vs. hydraulic clutch...the bell housing attachment areas are different but 'may' be adjustable for either condition.

Yes and no, Montero yes, 2wd not a direct swap.
