    Failed AZ emissions... Weber Carb

Loaded (at speed) readings were GREAT, lots of margin.

Idle hydrocarbons were high 174 but still passed (max 220 ppm)
Idle CO failed, 2.12% (max 1.2)

Do I just play with the idle set screw to bring it down and test again? I have 60 days in which to get a free retest.

Also noticed my throttle wasn't returning all the way... that may have been the issue. Hmm.

It's good the HCO passed (and sort of surprising). I should read through your old posts but I would do a full engine oil flush, run your tank low and use E10 before you take it in for another test as it will give lower emissions readings - and try leaning it out a little. Weber carbs hate ethanol fuel and it will cause a loss in HP/torque unless they're specifically jetted for it. Make sure your ignition tune is spot on too - check your plug gaps etc.

I think all the gas in AZ is E10.

Well, I made a little spring to make sure the throttle pulls all the way back at idle, also adjusted the idle mixture screw a little.

Going to retest here in an hour, if that doesn't do it, will change the oil, plugs, etc...

Good to hear haruman. Thanks for the info Geez I had forgotten that they changed all gas to E10 in Oregon which may have something to do with my tuning issues. There are some stations who sell real gas but its usually a dollar+ over the going price for E10 Here's a website that lists them in each state and Canada http://pure-gas.org/

I started running Geronimo on pure gas E0 and what a difference! More power, runs smoother, and had to turn the idle down as he was idling at 950 instead of 750.

I've been using STA-BIL with my fill ups to prevent any of the ethanol issues from affecting me.

A dollar+ more? That is just horrendous gouging at the pump. E10 is scammy when it comes to government pricing control. We get it a few cents more than E10 but there's zero tax on the actual ethanol component to fuel companies. Grrr

I was trying it on my Dakota to see if it solved any of my problems back when gas was north of $3.20 and they wanted around $5 for real gas. I'll give stabil a try. I might even try real gas on the next fill up just to see if it has an effect.

Sure do. Has to be 68 and older for no emissions.

Or... I could get collector tags (need collectors insurance) which would get rid of emissions, but it has to be fully restored to get that status.
