    a/c check valve

So my compressor check valve went out yesterday. Pulled vacuum on the system today and no good. I swear I've seen this valve on newer mitsubishi compressors. The diaphragm inside ruptured. I'm wondering if anyone has sourced these valves from somewhere else? Mopar can't look up a 91 truck a/c system because it was in an accessory manual hence it's not in their files. Also i think the valves were different on the R134 trucks compressors so I can't look it up through mitsubishi's parts catalog either.

Thats the emergency pop off. It blows up when the pressure is to high. That keeps from killing people by keeping the line or evap from exploding. Somthing is plugged in the system.

I should have known better. The truck idling in the yard so long is what did it. Remember i still have no shroud and cant find one. Ive got poor airflow. Ive considered gettin a dual fan from a nissan and running one when the engine is running and tie the other to the a/c switch. But i dont think ur wrong either. After recharging the system the high will be around 175-200 at 85 degrees and high humidity. Which is within spec. However the high side needle flutters so i think the txv is clogged. Pennyman mentioned the differences of a r12 vs a r134 txv. I wonder if theyre interchangable.

You must use the correct TXV for the gas you are using. The molecules s are different sizes.
And you better get a fan shroud. One from a Montero is your best bet. There easier to find.

These trucks are easier to find in my area than montero's surprisingly. Last montero I found had everything exept the fan shroud and front calipers.. lol I really don't wana pull that box back out again.. Guess I don't have much of a choice.

the expansion valves are interchangeable, at least on the 1st gen, but the 2nd gen should be the same, since they are all aftermarket kits sourced by Chrysler or Mitsu to meet minimum US content. At the upullit they just got a 2nd gen montero with a blown out front ball joint, intact engine bay, and a disk brake rear. Don't know when I will have time to get back there, but it may be there for a while.

I contacted polarbear. Waiting on response.
So it had a fan shroud? I know I can't use the brakes since the swap won't work on 2wd and I'm considering going 2wd with my diesel to see what kind of MPG it can get and since I'm not keeping my 2nd gen too much longer so I need an economical truck not a off road beater truck. It's driving me crazy. I put a new exhaust manifold on today and the O2 sensor seized so I need a new $95 o2 sensor. Also the back head stud broke trying to tighten it. I barely got it snug and it snapped. Luckily there was a few threads to tighten 2 nuts on it (since I didn't have my stud extractor set) so I had to pull it out and luckily I had a bolt with the same threads but I had to put a nut behind it cuz it was too long. Looks tacky but it works.

You should call them. I don't trust email to them. It's a small busy shop so a call is the best. If worst come to worst, I can go by there and pick it up and ship it to you.

If you have the chance let me know how much that would be. that would be easier for me since my phone's speaker is out right now. No calls for me.

Talked with Polar Bear. 916-923-2323. They would need to have it in there hands to match it up or find one that will work. You should just sent it to them. There good people and can take care of you.

I got an email from him today. I'll see what he says. He said the same thing I did, that I have poor airflow across the condensor that most likely blew that valve since it's rated at 400psi
