    G63B coil on plug conversion?

Has anyone tried this on our trucks? I've done it before on a few (more modern) cars but it was sort of splice, solder and play. This would be a little more involved I'd guess.

Biggest difference between us and cars is the distributor. Making that work is the trick. I wana do this with my 4g64 and put the better head on it from a galant but id have to adapt the cam sensor and COP system from the eclipses. Big problem is the 2 heads have int and exh on opposite sides

    Recian,
I adapted a AEM 30-1300 ECU for an Eclipse with Dual Coils and eliminated the Distributor, the Cap and button anyway. The base of the Distributor has the CAS built in for the 4G64 2.4 FI, all the Pinouts are the same. All I had to do was rob a Pick a part Eclipse of it's coils, Igniter, and Throttlebody (that's different also) and run a couple extra wires. for the dual coil. Cut off the ends of the ECU Plugs of the Donor car for extra pins to put into the empty holes in the plug, cut the harness as far back as possible for the wire.

here's some pix and commentary http://mmeierle.com/turbo_build.htm

Oh yeah, it's a full turbo conversion.

There was another thread where someone on here did a ford edis ignition swap on his truck - it gives all the details on how to do it, and the parts are cheap - the biggest thing is to mount the chopper wheel and the sensor - check it out.

if you look in the 4x4 section you'll find my build thread and i have everything listed as to what needs to be done to adapt to distributorless ignition. it should be on the third or fourth page of my build thread. i also have prices listed for almost everything.

Hi, that thread was awesome. You think it would be possible to get more details on that specific conversation? And do you think that ebay ford kit will work just as good as what you did with yours, im working on a g54b 2.6. Thanks
