you can still buy an adaptor pigtail to adapt any stereo to work in your truck - the 2nd gen are a 1 1/2 din size I believe, its been awhile since I owned and installed a unit in one

My parts car was a 1990 Plymouth laser rs turbo. The aftermarket radio in it already had a cheap plug and play harness in it and clipped right into the truck radio harness.
Would u like to sell ur old knob???
I can get you another if you like
I saw a factory stereo setup in a 2nd gen this weekend. Full sized radio(only) sitting in the top dash slot/radio position and a full sized cassette player that filled the lower slot where there is usually a storage tray/box.
I obviously don't know if they work, but they seemed complete and in relatively good condition considering their age and that they were in a junkyard.
I do know that the clock from that truck is working great in my truck now.
I knew daredevils and I ain't got nothin' against them, ........it's just they're all dead.
