    2.6 G54B w/ mechanical lifters

What years did the Ram 50 (or D50 back in the day) come factory equipped w/ factory lifters? I had DPR Racing Development do my head years ago and it has the Baker cam w/mechanical lifters. Want to P/U a factory service manual which covers the adjusting procedures etc... Thanks for any assistance!

In the manual section we have a first gen factory manual. If that is what you are looking for.

Interesting, DPR did my head for my 4G64, and re-ground my cam...

79 - 84 were the years with the mechanical lifters - really they are adjustors. If you run an aggressive cam or high boost, they are the only ones that survive. On some of the starquest sites they talk about using "elephant foot" VW adjustors, but other sites say they are bad to use on our engines. Also be sure to use oil with zddp or put in an additive to ensure the cam and bearings susvive with todays oil.
