    Project Mad Max build thread

I'm going to start a build thread that I have been wanting to do for a long time and now that my computer is fixed I am going to. Here is what I have done so far: IMAG0595.jpg New Kenwood head unit IMAG0596.jpg pulled a dash clock out of a donor truck IMAG0597.jpg New dash pad to replace the old cracked and torn one. IMAG0598.jpg Some off road lights, pulled a bumper off a donor truck to replace mine after the rv incident and painted my snap on tools frame while i was at it. IMAG0599.jpg Boss 4 channel 1600 watt amplifier and a kicker 6.5 inch sub in a bazooka tube IMAG0600.jpg kept the old speakers because they still sound great IMAG0601.jpg sport cluster from the donor truck IMAG0602.jpg rigged up an air-conditioning system from mighty max and montero parts.

    Future mods:
bucket seats and a center console.

I want to lift the truck and give it some bigger tires.
    cold air intake.
give it a pair of headers and re work the exhaust.
    Paint
New tailgate (mine is full of cancer)
300gt vr4 engine swap? Not sure which road to take with the engine
    Montero front rotors and calipers
Montero rear axle with disc brakes hopefully with an air locker as well.
whatever else pops into my head

looks like a cool project. I'm envious of your 3.0 v6! My 87 has the 2.6l 4 cylinder.

Went to the crash yard today looking for wire loom components came back with bucket seats. They need to be re-upholstered but hell for 13 bucks a piece for bolt in seats, I couldn't let that go. IMAG0681.jpgIMAG0682.jpgIMAG0683.jpg

Paid 20 each for a pair of buckets out of a hyundai xg300 - full leather, 6 way power, and heated. They also have side air bags but I can't use them...

Dang that's a sweet deal, I may go that route in the future but for now these will work. Until I can get my hangs on a spare wiring harness that can be modified for my needs I have been trying to stay away from power options.

How much modification did it take to fit those seats in your truck though?

Just some much needed maintenance recently, new tires, idler and pitman arms, spring shackle bushings, shocks all the way around, sway bar bushings, tie rod ends, ball joints, control arm bushings and control arm shafts. did some work to the bucket seats.

I did put a set of power seats in Geronimo years ago - I just took and cut off the old connectors and used commercial high power connectors and powered them off the aux fuse block I had previously installed for adding things
