    '86 grill clips/doflatchies/thingamabobs... anyone have a source?

I realize I may just give everyone a big laugh, but that is not a bad thing either. I wonder if there is a source for, or a sub for, the four little plastic clips that hold the bottom of the grill to the frame on a '86 RAM? I am working a cracked grill and discovered my Matchbox has exactly one and one half present and accounted for.

Anyone know if the grill is ABS?

If no source, I will have to get inventive, and thanks anyway!! Grumppa

You can try www.mitsubishiparts.net. They have a 1-866 number you can call and order parts over the phone. I got some of those little thingamabob clips for my grill to rad support from them a year ago or so. There are also lots of sources for front grilles on the web if you don't want to deal with the cracked one.

I think you wanted doflickies ... lol. If you can't find the clips like the grille had, see if you can find the snap in screw mounts like the older d-50s had. If you can't find them, let me know and I will see if there are any good ones left on the 80 parts truck.

If they would fit the square hole for the thingamabob clips it might be worth going to the screw mount type. Those little plastic spring clips don't like being messed with in the winter, especially if they're old.

Mazda B2200 uses the same grill clips as the D-50, they have 4 square clips holding the grill and some round ones, you need the square ones. The D-50 needs 8 so I took the clips from 2 trucks.

Hey, Thanks for all the good help!! I can never keep doflatchies and doflickies straight. I will try Mitso Parts for sure... I hope they have pictures!! I am going to try solvent welding this grill as it is in pretty good shape and has a nice "patina" of age. If I melt 2/3s of it, I can always go new. All (three) of the Salvage Yards around here do not keep anything older then 10 years or so any more

Sorry for the delayed Thank You's, but my "part-time" job is developing a life of it's own (again). The fellow I work for only hires retirees and most of his current crew are 70 to 80. Being one of the younger Old Farts, I am his ready reserve for when a regular needs some time off. Coming up: some 12 hour shifts!!

Also, when I got the grill inside and in good light, I see where the molder stamped the grill data and that it was indeed ABS plastic if anyone else is interested.

    Thank again all!! Grumppa

Update: I have doflatchies/ doflickies/ thingamabobs!! Don't worry though, it's not contagious. After all KINDS of hassles on the internet (most places I queried never even answered me) I walked into a local place I do business with and we talked for awhile. I mentioned my problem, and he said: (and I quote) "Geeze, I would like to help you but I just sold my last ones and I can't get more until next week. I now own a box of 25 for $12 plus tax. Go to your doflxxxxxxy/ thingamabob store and have them cross reference "Au-ve-co" number 17195. Place says they have been in business since 1916. Description is "Grille clips" and the box lists Isuzu, Ford Escort, Honda, Mitsubishi (Yaaaay!!) and Plymouth Laser.

Hmmmmm.... seems my last post got lost somewhere. The TOP clips for the grille are Au-ve-co # 14277. They come 15 to a box for $9.00 (approx. w/ tax, your results may vary). Why I love(?) "Eerie: two nights ago we had temps in the thirties and snow... NOT my idea of mid-March!! People wonder why I am grumpy!!
