How To Reinstall the Camshaft End Cap?

Hi, I have a couple questions. I am getting ready to replace the valve cover gasket on my 1987 Ram 50, G54B engine. How does the black camshaft end cap go back in place? Seems to me it just fell out when I removed the cover to begin with. Also, what torque do I use on the two valve cover bolts?

They just sit in the half round holes. I always used a touch of silicone at the corners. As for the torque it's not much. Just tighten them by hand tell they feel good and snug. It's only rubber.

And there aren't any seals or gaskets or anything around it? The one I have is just a black metal cap, with a shallow groove in it. Seems like oil could seep out around it.

That's what the silicone is for. Valve cover bolt torque is 4 ft/lbs
