    power train swap

Hi everybody, my first time here, I would like to swap my 1982 4WD running gear into a 1986 2WD frame, (86 has a much better body) can this be done? Or do I have to put the 86 body on my 82 frame? HELP

It would be much easier to swap the 86 body to the 82 4wd frame - just have to cut out the tranny tunnel for the 4wd sticks and maybe swap the wiring harness

I just got the 86 home, had a chance to compare, but the 82 4wd"s tunnel is much bigger the the 86 2wd so I think it would be to labor intensive to do, not sure what other complications could arise.

hey, put 86 body on the 82 frame.
cut the floor out of the 82 and put it in the 86.
only have to cut back to the seat support.
if you lived closer I'd come help for the rest of the floor I need for a project.
