    2.6 fuel pump leak question

My power ram had sat for years before i picked it up last week so i had to replace the fuel filter and.flush the lines. The pump works fine but i noticed a couple holes on the underside of the fuel pump body that are dripping gas during idle and giving a spray of gas under acceleration. What are the holes for and why the leak? Just wondering if there might be an additional problem to handle when i replace the pump.

It's just for venting. Thats what it's doing. If it goes bad gas can come out. Otherwise it can go in the engine and blow the engine bottom end. So it's better to have it leek where you can see it. The diaphragm is going to blow out. R&R the pump ASAP.

Cool. I figured it was supposed to be some kind of vent. Thanks for the tip.
