    Oil light strange issues

Usually everything seems fine but every so often after it's warmed up the oil light will come on at an idle but if I shut the engine off then restart it everything is fine again. Also sometimes the oil light won't come on when the key is first turned. Engine is 4d55. I was thinking it's an electrical problem. I'll be putting a manual gauge in next weekend.

flush the sending unit out with kerosene or diesel - sludge may have lodged in the sensor and causing erratic operation, or the sender is going bad.

if your sensor is bad, it is that same as any 4g54...... been there done that. and there cheap. you could also remove that sending unit and install a mechanical in that exact spot to see what your oil pressure really is.... just for piece of mind.
