    Head changes

I'm curious if there's any differences between the 92 and 94 2.4Ls. I cant find a new head under $450 but I did find one on ebay that's listed to be 90-92. My truck is a 94. Would it work? It's $200 cheaper than what's labeled for 94.

Also are there any performance cams anyone is aware of before i try to buy a stock camshaft for my truck

    The damages:
If you look near the dowel on the cam you'll see it's cracked about 1 1/4" long.

Journals beyond saving. Most of them are like this.

From what I know 90 - 96 2.4L 4G64 fuel injected are all the same. But double check with droppedmitsu and LSR Mike.
    You can always call them.

I didn't think there were any differences but autozone's website shows different part numbers for heads for 92 and the 94 so maybe they are different. Ask LSRmike as he should definitely know as he knows a lot about the 2.4L 4g64

But as far as cams you can have yours reground. Theres not much to work with out there. You can call these guys and they can see if there is any thing out there. Or I can go by and ask for you. http://rexracingengines.com/
LSR is the definitive answer to all these questions.

LSR verified there is a difference between the 2 heads. He said theyre minor differences including torque to yield head bolts for the 93-96. I'm going to the yard saturday so if I find another MM I may yank the head just to see if there are any differences. I've gota pull the cam and valvetrain anyway. Funny thing tho I found a Mitsu truck 92-95 book in storage at the shop the other day. All it has in the engine section is how to r/i the engine and how to line up the timing marks. lol

If you look in the manual section under the post over 216 manuals. look for the montero book it covers your truck. .PDF in Zip form. There is also a hole crap load of other manuals in there.
