    oil pan gasket suggestions

just rebuilt my 88 mm 2.0

    1. Bought a fel-pro oil pan gasket from autozone for $10. It leaked as I'm getting the timing straight. I thought I might have not put it on correctly.
    2. So I bought another fel-pro for $10 from autozone. Put it on today and tightened the bolts. As I was doing that, the piece of SH&* cracked as pressure was applied on the bolts.

So does anyone have any suggestions for a higher quality oil pan gasket other than POS paper fel-pro? I just want to get this mm running without an oil leak from the pan gasket!

Yeah, silicone gasket maker/ rtv/ silicone.....whatever you wanna call it. I like a product called "right stuff" . Its in a pressurized can with a nozzle that you tilt and it comes out. Just gotta make sure the surafces are nice and clean.

I used permatex ultra gray. One and only gasket from felpro I don't trust is their oil pan gasket.
