I've got two conquest IRS's and thought about swapping the LSD from the quest into the 86 ram50's rear.
Can this be done?
Thanks E

I think the gears will swap over but the starion lsd carrier isnt quite wide enough to fit the truck case. I see the starion guys use the 3.9 gears from the trucks.
The starion lsd will only fit in the front dif of 4x4s. You need a rear dif out of a 4banger mighty max or montero.
The starquest lsd will not fit the rear of our trucks, but will fit the front diff of a 4wd truck. Try to get one from a 1st gen montero - 91 or older. You may also be able to use one from a montero sport - the axle will have disc brakes and leaf spring perches. Try the starquest forums and see if you can trade the starquest lsd for a montero lsd - thats how I got one for Geronimo, although I traded it on the old ram50 forum. 2nd gen monteros have the 9" rear diff with lsd and are nearly indestructable - also supposed to be a better copy of a ford 9", but I can't say that for sure. They are 4.63 gears, but there are 3.909 gears out there if you look hard for them.

Pennyman! Did u say leafspring perches? Would the whole axle swap?
I thought that the later montero's had the Dana-44's... Hhmmm.
I'm kinda stuck right now, unless I find one this weekend.. I'm having shoulder surgery Tuesday morning
What about the Raider's? Too small, Too big?
Thanks E

Raiders are monteros 1st gen - direct swap. So should the montero sport be a direct swap, the whole axle should be a bolt up, except the drive shaft may need modified to work on the truck.

Thanks again for your help!
Time is running out.. I'll have to search later (maybe in the end of Sept)

I've got an LSD out of a truck I got from another member here that I never used. I ended up moving my project forward faster than I figured and narrowed a Mopar 8.75 for mine.
