When I shift from 4wd to 2wd I have to pull forward and backward to make it unlock .

I think this is normal. If you look in the manual section you can find the owners manual. Page 30 is the start of the 4WD info.

yup, flip down your visor it will tell you how do do it. Yeah you must back up about 5 ft in 2wd for the front hubs to unlock, if you back up in 4wd they will unlock and then lock in again.
