    ...it's finally getting done

For those of you that know me (yes, all 3 of you), you know that I've been talking about baggin' my truck forever. Well, it's finally getting done. This afternoon a large truck stopped by my bank to pick up my truck to deliver it to Phat Phabrikations in Oklahoma City. Jake McKiddie will be building my new suspesion and hopefully will be done in time for S.O.L 6 in Joplin, MO. I really don't know if I'll be getting any pics while he's working on it, but if I do, I will post them here.

Here's a pic of it on the truck.

I'm running on 17s now, but I hope to get some 19s after the build. I think he's doing a 4 link, not sure where he's mounting the bags. I do know he's putting bags on all four corners and it will do Front, Back, and Side to Side. C-notch but, I don't know if he's raising the bed floor or cutting a hole across the axel. I will be calling him soon to discuss all the details. I'll post more when I know more.

    Stay tuned!

$3,680 for the whole job which includes pick up and delivery. I heard a lot of good things about the shop from the members of Pneumatics Truck Club, Severed Ties and Vertically Challenged. He's done a few trucks seen on Mini Truckin' magazine. Hopefully mine will be that good.

Yeah, this guy is in it for the hobby/lifestyle not the money. He emailed me today and said he's waiting on a few parts and he will get started. It should take about 2-3 weeks and he will send me pics as he goes. As soon as I get them I will post them here.

Wow Josh, that was almost 10 years ago. Glad I inspired you. My inspiration (Ernie Macias from MT mag) offered to buy my truck once and I almost did. Glad I didn't. True story.

Ernie may look you up again - his was stk cover truck was nearly totalled after being on the cover of Minitruckin. Saw the truck in person at Sema last year -was hit from behind a few weeks later.

I saw that on MT. I actually asked about joining No Regrets and was told I need to Body Drop my truck. I may do that if I still have any money left. Lol

To me that is a waste of a good truck to cut out the floor to drop it so low that is unusable as a truck anymore. More trucks are ruined that way and end up scrapped due to shoddy work. Had that been the trend 20 years ago when I redid Geronimo, I would have done it as the floor had to be replaced anyways, so the work would not have been so bad. I have had many people in the 'burgh tell me to leave it alone, and some to not even bag it - and this is from fellow mini truckers!!!

True, I've heard that from other guys all week that have body dropped their trucks. I think I'll stay away from that and leave it as is. If it's not low enough with bags, too bad.

One more truck saved - if the works done right, it is a great mod, but very few have the skill to do it right. If Ernie's truck wasn't done by good fabricators, he would have had much worse damage than what happened to his truck. There is so much more to body dropping than cutting sheet metal - structural integrity needs to be maintained after the mod is done.

i love a body dropped truck to hell and back...You are right about the work, i have seen a good bit of hacked BDed trucks, my last s10 was trad bodydropped, i did it over a winter and it WAS a ton of work....most just cut and weld, i re did all the structural connecting the body mounts under the cab. Nothing like a truck laying rockers hard as hell!!

In the old days of custom cars, they channeled the floor to allow the frame to come up into the body - helped keep the structure of the body, although those cars had much more metal to work with than we do with these trucks.
