    Wilmington Mile 157.310MPH

The Mighty Max is starting to get some respect, The inaugural Wilmington Mile was held this last weekend and the truck performed very well.

the first pass on Saturday was a mere 154.860 MPH, only 5 MPH better than last year at the track a Maxton N.C. I knew I had a good run going when I saw the shift light flicker (7000RPM, 5th Gear) I approached the lights. Truck checked out after the run so I reset the cockpit for Sunday.

On Sunday I was a bit more aggressive thru 1st and 2nd (smoked the tires in second) and the shift light came on solid before I got to the traps so I was smiling ear to ear after the chute pull on that run.

More info about the event will be posted at www.ecta-lsr.net sometime this week, current info in the Ohio Mile group on facebook.

My tuner, David Buschur was at the event and took a look at my run logs, he tweaked my tune and I'm adding 2 more lbs of boost for June, should be able to top 160 MPH and beat my Bonneville best of 159 MPH.

That's just crazy! Awesome job! Any chance of getting some video? Would love to see it in action.

It would be nice if some farmer in the mid-west (that has thousands of acres) could make a long stretch of track so one wouldn't have to treck all the way across the country to run..
Heck, I'd do it if I was loosing my shirt with corn or... And build a little town with hotels and maintenance facilities to draw peeps out.)

Sometimes you could drive for hours and only see a few farm houses.

Great job Mike! What gearing are you running? Or is this a guarded secret?

    No secrets (yet).

Here are the numbers from my spread sheet.

    Tire Diameter Calculator
    tire diameter = 2 x selection width x aspect ratio / 2540 + rim diameter
Width Aspect Ratio Rim Diameter Tire Diameter
    225 60 15 25.62992126

    MPH Calculator
mph = rpm x tire diameter / differential gear ratio x 336/ transmission gear ratio
    Differential
    Gear Ratio 1st Gear 2nd Gear 3rd Gear 4th Gear 5th Gear
    3.909 3.74 2.136 1.36 1 0.856

Puts me at 6900 RPM in 5th on paper

AEM Log shows 6984 RPM, actual.
