Look at where your hazard light switch is, then look on the opposite side of the steering column in the same spot and you'll see a plastic cover. Remove that and there will be a switch to flip in there. Battery light is your alternator or battery having problems.

I think it might be a button.

To the right of the steering column on the dashboard is a switch - most likely the hazard switch. pry out. Look inside. To the right and up should be a silver switch with a black piece. Toggle to either left or right. Will shut off light

there is a small switch behind one of the switch blank off plates to the right of the steering column. It is a very small switch about 6" deep into the dash, hard to find easy to reset

it is definitely in that spot, all 2nd gen trucks have them right there. Its not going to be right there when you pop off the cover, look in the hole with a flash light and small screwdriver and right on the bottom of the gauge cluster it will be sitting right there back by the little screw that's holding the gauge cluster surround on.

On my '90, which just turned over 200k, I had to remove the "valence", the part of the dash that covers the instrument panel, to see the switch. Just remove the four screws that hold it on and it comes off easily and there was the switch, in the bottom right hand corner. The whole thing takes five minutes.
