Have any of you replaced the upper control arm shaft (s) on your !st generation truck?
Is it an easy task? or is it best to leave it to a well equipped garage mechanic,?
Any advice, directions appreciated, Thanks,

You will need a hydraulic press to push the shafts out, I have done it.
the nuts on the ends of the shaft should just spin out, then pull the shaft. The lower control arms you may need to press or cut out the old bushings
Thanks to both of you for the advice, Cheers, Ralph
Not sure if it works on 2wd trucks but in the 4x4 world, I like to bolt on 3rd gen suspension because it rides nicer, has bolt on balljoints is readily available and inexpensive. I'd upgrade an entire front suspension, steering and brakes with late model 3rd gen stuff but that's me.
2wd is a different setup - all 2wd uppers are the same
Unlucky, yeah i'm starting to remember that the 2WD pickups front suspension looked more similar (but different) to my '78 Arrow GT.
