what exhaust to get?
need some input from u guys. this spring im gonna put a header on my d50 and have know idea what exhaust to get. back in the day, way back, i had a cherry bomb on my 71 datsun pu but they suck as far as back pressure goes an are too loud. i was thinking of all new 2 1/4 inch pipe all the way back into a single inlet dual outlet flowmaster. but which flowmaster is best for these pickups? dont want it to be too loud, want it to sound good. does all what i have planned sound good to the experts on here?

I haven't heard a flowmaster that didn't sound good. When my diesel is done I want to put one on it since it's going in a truck with a 2.6 exhaust and it's too small lol so it's gona need a new built exhaust. If I remember right flowmaster 50s are loud outside but quiet inside. 40s will flow best but you're gona hear it especially inside that un-insulated truck. I'd think a 50 would suit the D50 better than a 40. I had a 84 datsun with a Z24 that had straight pipe and it sounded good. Idk how the 2.6 sounds straight pipe tho.

Sorry to say but there just isn't much out there. The only choice you have is the pacesetter then. But you should read through this thread. http://www.mightyram50.net/vbulletin...ght=pacesetter

I have a 44 series Flowmaster 2 1/4 in dual 2 out on a 2.6 with a weber and a pacesetter header on Geronimo and it sounds fine for me - but the cab has dynamat and foil/foam insulation so the noise level is better than a non insulated truck. The pacesetter is about to be changed out for a new Doug Thorley header , the same design as the one camoit has, after 22-24 years, its about rusted through.

What size the stock headpipe?
The pipe between the cat and muffler?
-
Stock muffler measurements 2-1/4"in 1-3/4"out

Cool, thanks.
I'm gonna add a flowmaster super 44 with dual outlets for dual exhaust come out behind the rear wheels.
