Hi everybody, my first time here, I would like to swap my 1982 4WD running gear into a 1986 2WD frame, (86 has a much better body) can this be done? Or do I have to put the 86 body on my 82 frame? HELP

It would be much easier to swap the 86 body to the 82 4wd frame - just have to cut out the tranny tunnel for the 4wd sticks and maybe swap the wiring harness
I just got the 86 home, had a chance to compare, but the 82 4wd"s tunnel is much bigger the the 86 2wd so I think it would be to labor intensive to do, not sure what other complications could arise.Quote:

welcome to the forum man.. hope u enjoy the board. and yes it can be done w/ a bit of custom fab. and i would agree w/ pennyman's suggestion but not sure about the harness. what u gonna end up doing?
