Is there an intake manifold and fuel rail that will bolt onto this head to EFI? Getting it to run will be easy, I just don't know what is available for this engine. I've converted a 22R Toyota using 22RE parts and a Megasquirt ECU in the past.

the starquest is a 2.6 with throttle body efi that can be run with a megasquirt, but it isn't the best way to go, as it isn't multiport injection. I may have another solution that my friend trkdesigner has on a conquest he bought for the motor - it has some kind of intake and efi from possibly a 90's dodge colt / mitsu mirage running with a megasquirt. Have not seen it run yet - weather has been brutal in the burgh.
What about parts from a 4G64?

The 2.0 head will bolt onto the 2.4 block but will also bump up the compression a bit, theres a guy on the facebook mighty max page running this setup. You could also take all the fuel injection components(and ecu/engine harness, etc) and convert the 2.0 to fuel injection. Transmissions cannot be swapped between the two as one is a narrow block and the other a wide block engine design .

I converted my 2.0 to fuel injection. bought a donar truck and swaped every thing over. Entire wire harness from tail light to headlight. everything bolted/plugged up fine. ran great. Good bit more power and mpg.
fyi, you dont need the complete wiring harness front to back to do the swap. All you need is the engin harness which is very easy to pull out.
What kind of mileage are you getting now? What kind of mileage were you getting before? Did you swap fuel tanks?
When I did my Toyota I made my own harness. Pretty easy.
If you are willing to spend the money for a Fast Fuel Injection system. It could work. I think they make one small enough for a 4 cylinder. But your looking at $3000 for the kit. It's a TBI set up.
Would the intake manifold and TBFI from a Mazda B2600 work? I think they used the Mitsubishi 2.6 and were injected. Probably be able to use the Mazda ECM as well
No, They only used the carbed version of the mitsu 2.6 for like 2 years. The f.I. 2.6 was a Mazda motor
you could check out this web site, affordable-fuel-injection.com. They could build you a throttle body fuel injector. I contacted them about a year ago to get some info. They would need the dimensions of the carb mount on the intake. If they had an adapter plate that would fit the mount it would cost $1000 +or- a few. If they had to machine one from scratch, they charge around $55.00 an hour for labour. That got me thinking that there must be a fuel injector out there in a a salvage yard that would work.... Like the Mazda 2600, and I would need to have an adapter plate made made to fit it to the 2.6 Mitsu manifold.
Or don't waste time and ridiculous amounts of money on something that can be done with OEM parts. The stock 2.6l g54b in the Mitsu Starion/Conquest has all the items needed to convert the truck into fuel injection.
What about the Hyundai, didn't they use that 2.4 head from Mitsubishi.
We are talking 2.6l which is a completely different design than the 2.4 and 2.0
I guess I am thinking about the availability of used stuff here in Canada. Of course, if you can find a Starion or Conquest in the U.S. it makes more sense to use Mitsubishi parts. I don't think Mitsubishi had vehicles in Canada back then so finding a donor in a scrap yard up here is very unlikely.
Hi guys, there are OEM MPI set ups for the 4G54 engine but they're designed for FWD configurations. They require the throttle body mount to be cut off and welded to the other end of the injection plenum and a bit of creative plumbing to get the coolant from the manifold to the radiator. This particular mod is pretty much standard practice here in Australia with the Mitsu guys. Go and check out

I have that setup sitting in my garage, but its not mine yet. May use it on the conquest motor I am building if I ever get the time to finish assembling the long block. It has a 88-93 5.0 mustang throttle body on it instead of the conquest one - more flow.
