Vin replacement Tag
Well ! I screwed up ! I am building a Pro street 87 ram 50 with mustang 2 front suspension ,and I built a custom dash for it and then I moved after it was a nice roller . Any how ,3 years later ... I saved the vin tag in a baggie and had it in my office . I was shredding old documents and some how the baggie with my vin fell on the shredder and got caught in the shredder and it sucked it in and devoured it . Just my Luck !
Who does new dash vin tags for them ? I have had a few made ,but they are in no way correct!
I am so pissed about it . Any help would be appreciated on a correct replacement tag .
Thanks !

I would contact your local motor vehicle department and ask them.. from the past I know some if not most or all states says its illegal to just replace them because anyone could make fake ones for cars.... plus the mvd would probably need to confirm the door and frame rail vin to match..

I never worried about tags especially when you’re building one truck out of 3 donors like I did, how does a guy build a hot rod out of scrap parts and be OK? If it’s not a stolen Vin I don’t see the problem on vehicles that old it’s coming up in the system. If you have a legal title you should be able to get some help from the state.
Plan B find a clean scrap title and tag and consider that if that’s allowed but these trucks are important to us but age and value wise not to rest of the world.
