Does anybody know of any alternate oil filters that fit the 2.6? No brands seems to carry the oil filter in stock at local brick and mortar stores. I can order them online, but this seems like a temporary solution to a long term problem regarding parts availability.
I noticed no more k and n filters for all portions, napa wix should do fine now. Unknown though if local stuff is however.

Mitsubishi OEM oil filters are still available & not expensive -- check a dealer parts dept.
Wix filters are excellent and should be readily available, tho' your local shop may need to special-order yours if they don't keep the right one in stock. Wix lists their filter #51381 for any of our Mitsu gas engines, or #51324 for the diesel has a slightly larger canister and more filter media but otherwise identical in spec. You should be able to use those #s to look up cross-refs from any other filter mfr., but IMO avoid Fram (not terrible but very cheaply/flimsily made, so you can get a better filter for a comparable cost).
Napa part no. 1381, never had trouble finding these, usually in stock. Good luck.
Napa Gold filters are just relabeled Wix, so that Napa 1381 should be identical to the Wix 51381, as Napa 1324 is to Wix 51324.
