1986 dodge ram 50 sport
how you doing guys new here, so I have 86 dodge ram 50 2.6l with 3 speed automatic transmission I drive it alot on the highway so I decided to go with 4 speed transmission, is that even possible? if so where can I find one in colorado preferably thank you.

if you are going to swap to a manual, go for a 5spd transmission from an 83 - 89 2.0 truck. You need a narrow block tranny - measured 12.5 inches from the center to center of the lower bell housing bolt holes. You also need the flywheel and the piece on the firewall for the clutch cable to go through. Don't toss the auto tranny flexplate - they are worth their weight in gold because they are so hard to find. Then you will need to make adjustments to the gas pedal to account for the position of the new brake and clutch pedals.

85 to 90 b2000 had a 4speed auto
adaptor plate and 700r4 would work

Is that Bill Hincher? He makes trans and crank end adapters for mostly Mitsu and DSM stuff. The dude is a legend...
don't know if the 4G64 is going to like having the GM trans hanging off it's ass though. Interesting to note the next vid that gets queued up is another Mitsu/DSM legend - jafromobile :)
