Bed seam rust
I've got some rust starting to form on both sides of my bed, ahead of the wheel wells (think under the gas door) on both sides at the seams.
It's not bad right now, but, I want to repair it before it gets worse. It looks like the bed has seam sealer at this seam on both sides, and the rust is just starting to rear its ugly head.
What have you guys done to repair this? It's not to the point of needing a patch or anything.
Thoughts? I know this is common, but I couldn't find anything on here discussing the topic.

Look for a good bed on car-parts and see what you can find!

I'm about to repair a bed with the same damage. It's a little past not needing patches. But here is what I would do
Wire brush all the seams down on both sides till shiny metal, spray it all down with rust converter, spray with a good epoxy primer, use seam sealer before painting
Mines going to be a bit more indepth, Il remove all the lower skirts and repair the holes

treat the rust with Ospho - it is a rust convertor treatment. Just brush it on the rust, and it will turn it to a black color which is a stable non rusting state. I have a hood I treated with this 25 years ago, and there is no surface rust despite it sitting outside for 3 years straight.
