Hi guys, I have been making incredibly slow progress on the '83 SPX, as it absolutely refuses to start. I have tried all methods I can think of. I am at a loss.

O.k. time to take a look at what has changed since the last time it ran (judging by your previous posts this will be out of your hands as you bought it as a non runner). If you're sure your timing marks have been set correctly then I would take a close look at the distributor and check if has been installed properly. A tooth out either way will make it near impossible to start.
Start at eh crank to cam timing. Then once you know it's set then move on to the distributor. Pull the cap while it's sitting on #1TDC and look to see if the rotor is pointing to where the pick up pin is. Once you get that set it should do something.
Thank you gentlemen, I now know where I need to begin tomorrow morning. Will give update after.
