4g64 bogging down under throtle

Ok. My baby has been in the woods for about a year and i finally got the time to get it running again. I've replaced the brake system and the fuel system, and it came to life with only a little valve chatter and good compression on all cylinders. the issue is that when i drive, and have load on the engine in any gear, it seems there isn't power being put to the wheels until i reach the shift point. Is this symptomatic for these engines? I've gone through the Emissions control system checks in the repair manual, and all valves are functioning within their limits. I'm truly baffled as to what could cause this. Could i have managed to pipe the fuel system incorrectly? Any suggestions?
