Was wondering if anyone had any experience with the Montero UCA swap. Is it a direct bolt on, will longer shocks be needed with a MILD torsion bar crank, etc. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

the johnbaker kit utilized longer shocks...as you mentioned MILD torsion cranking will prevent huge issues. I also purchased the johnbaker exterior shock kit & installed air shocks to lessen the tension on the sway-a-way torsion bars (but they still both snapped). http://www.mightyram50.net/vbulletin...0&d=1397182687http://www.mightyram50.net/vbulletin...2&d=1397262738http://www.mightyram50.net/vbulletin...5&d=1397262738
man, you got to quit teasing the youngsters with all the toys we could buy back then for our trucks - if I only had bought the torsen locker back then...
Pennyman, all your stuff can fill a factory! You need to start up re-manufacturing Mitsubishi trucks again. I know you have enough stuff to build a parking lot full of 1st gens. I would place an order if I knew I could get it in my lifetime. :P JK!
but ragragtimetime has the 1st gen fleet - I only have 2...
I think he drives around late at night with an empty trailer looking for 1st gens parked on the street in the nearby towns, cornering the market. :lmao:
That old ad is awesome ragragtimetime. Sweet truck too. I'm guessing the john baker parts are next to impossible to find. Ive recently acquired a fairly mint 82 sport 4x4. Even still wearing the factory 14 sport wheels. Only have 1100 in the truck so I'd like to lift the front as cheap as possible but done right. Which brings me back to the Montero UCA swap. Thanks for the info so far!
A pic of the beast.
:coolphotos: We always like them photos
Thanks
you had mentioned a specific rim offset to be used for the build, thought this would be helpful (the stock rims will NOT fit with the john baker uca's) http://www.mightyram50.net/vbulletin...3&d=1423271986http://www.mightyram50.net/vbulletin...4&d=1423272034
yeah...so i was always think'n cuz i have a stock spare....if i get a front flat....i'll have to move a rear to the front & put the spare on the rear.
Thanks for the info. That had crossed my mind because I ran into that problem running stock rims on a lifted yota.what size tire and rim combo are running in that earlier pic.
