AC compressor 2F401MH ... anyone know anything about this thing?

Compressor on my 1986 MM 2.0 L is an 2F401MH. Almost nothing about it on the internet. Is this the York kind that has its own internal oil supply and the refrigerant is oil free? Compressor moves freely and has suction and pressure (on the fingers).

The AC hoses seem dry no oil in sight. the 85 shop manual shows the right compressor and doesn't mention oil at all in the charging instructions. The specs for the compressor in the manual says Model 2F401MH ... "Lubrication SUNISCO 5GS 200 cc"

I'm going to convert to 134a but i'm trying to figure out what this thing is and how it's supposed to be lubricated ... if it's any good... anyone using this compressor? advise?

that is saying to add 200 ccs of compressor oil into the compressor. Since you are going to R134, flush the compressor and get an ester oil to fill the compressor - that is compatible with R134 and any residual oil from the r-12 that is left in the system. DO NOT USE PAG OIL - it will react violently with the residual mineral oil from the r-12 and destroy the system. I have the same setup in my 86 project truck and will be doing that to it shortly. The compressor should be a sanden compressor rotary type.

OR you could use the Propane based R12. It's "technically" illegal in the USA because it's a "flammable gas" but you can pick it up all over the place. And you don't need to change any oils, at least thats what I was reading in one of the other posts on here. FordBushi knows all about the stuff.

I'm looking for a rebuilt replacement or to send out and have rebuilt. I've seen lots on ebay but my xref is ALWAYS wrong for some reason. I've got the 85 MM 4d55 2.3 turbo diesel 4x4. Great lil truck but a bitch to match parts for.

I never found much about this compressor. I decided to convert mine to a Sanden compressor since those are so widely used.

What was involved with the conversion? What compressor did you use? Model No.
