I currently have this style of electric fuel pump to run my Weber 32/36 carburetor. It works great, but it's so annoyingly loud!

I found this electric fuel pump that Autozone says is compatible with the 1988 Mitsubishi Mighty Max 4x4 2.6L. Anyone have this electric fuel pump hooked up on their truck that can comment on how noisy it is, if at all?

O'Reilly's has one too. One review claimed it was "silent". I don't know if this is true.

That O'Reilly E23101 pump looks pretty similar to the Carter P90091 pump I favor, might be a knockoff or even the exact same item relabeled by "Import Direct". Anyway, the Carter is a rotary "gerotor" mechanism that delivers smooth, continuous flow with perfect PSI and minimal sound, just a faint gear whine that I can barely hear if I listen close when the engine's off, and not at all with it running.

That Autozone E8016S pump, if you look at the other photo of it, has similar dimensions to the Carbole pump, short and squat, so it's probably a similar mechanism, likely a solenoid-driven piston design which tends to be buzzy and delivers a pulsing flow.

Here's how I mounted the Carter pump to the support rail at the front of the tank on my RWD longbed, not sure if other variants of our trucks have a similar tank configuration but FWIW:

Do you run a fuel pressure regulator?

No regulator and no need, as the Carter pump's output pressure is ~3-4 psi, already perfect for Webers as-is, and the even delivery has no pulses for a regulator to smooth out.

Thank you. I'm going to try both and see which one is quieter.

Please let us know what you find for how they work. I think I am needing a different pump set up, as mine loses prime to easy if my truck sits for a few days

Where do you have your pump mounted? Down low near the tank is best; that should help keep the lines at the pump primed, and they work better pushing fuel than pulling. May also help to add a non-return/check valve in the fuel line near the carb end.
