1987 Ram 50/Mighty Max G54b
The stock exhaust rocker arms for use with hydraulic lifters is MD072118 according to my research.
this exact part number is listed for the fork lift motor. I assume I can use on my truck?
also, can I use (8) exhaust rockers since I have a aftermarket non jet valve head? They appear identical if you exclude the arm that would actuate a jet valve.
Again, I would assume the Starion hydraulic camshaft will work in the truck. Where can I get one at a reasonable price that has been properly harden? (No Chinese stuff)

Looking at the online parts catalogs at Amayama.com and PartsSoug.com both list the MD072118 rocker for multiple vehicles with the G54B engine including the truck and Starion. The cam P/N (MD077306) is also the same. Both catalogs describe the rocker as an inlet and exhaust rocker. If excluding the jet valve arm, the intake and exhaust look and measure the same, you should be fine to use all hydraulic exhaust rockers.
Sourcing an inexpensive non-Chinese cam may be a challenge. A wrecking yard might be your best option. Sealed Power made a cam years ago for these trucks (P/N CS-810). You might be able to find one of them or an equivalent that is hardened.

Is the hydraulic cam in the Starion/Conquest the same as the trucks? If not, would it be better to run that cam if I can find one?

On multiple sites I found that listed the MD072118 cam, the fitment descriptions included both the truck and Starions. So they should have the same stock cam. Of note, however, in the nineties and aughts, there were sources for cams with different profiles for those modifying their Starions. Don't know if any still exist or are available, but the StartQuestClub is a good place to look for info about the stock and alternate cams.

What is the difference between the G54b cam for a FWD and RWD?

Any good cam can be reground to a different profile. All they do is take a couple of 0.003 off the heal to give it a different profile. As for a difference between a RWD and 4x4 with the same engine. There shouldn’t be anything different. The engine is the engine. It’s only when they change Famley there might be a difference.

Looking for the difference in a Front wheel drive and rear wheel drive cam in the G54b. Was told they are different.

The FWD cam is longer and the end opposite the timing gear protrudes out of the head. That end is for a pulley and belt that drive the water pump. I don’t know if the cam profile is the same as the truck’s, but the pulley end would contact the firewall if you tried to use it in RWD vehicle.

The front wheel drive is longer and is threaded to take a cast pulley where the rear wheel drive has a plug in the same spot.

I have had zero luck getting NOS parts for this engine. I guess my only option is to order from Japan. I don’t want used stuff.
