Hi all glad to be here unfortunately My 93 mighty max 4g64 5spd is in the shop with a crank no start condition but sometimes it will start cant really say when though relative to any factors such as temp outside because its pretty random anyways my mechanic is diagnosing it as a bad distributor.

my problem is that I purchased a new distributor from AutoZones online webpage inputting year make and model but when I went to drop it off the mechanic began poking around and came to the conclusion that it was the wrong one I took a look and it does appear that the wiring is different so im confused am i missing something? both pics come up as the compatible units

this is the one i purchased from autozone but the plug doesent seem to fit and is way too short:

The plug on this one appears to be the correct type and length:

you need to pull the plug out and put yours on it. or just return it and get the one above.

Yes i was thinking that could work but will the wiring match up as well as the specs? The mechanic was saying the colors were different as well but the wiring does seem to be held in place by a couple screws so it could easily be swapped onto the purchased distributor. I would return it and buy the one above except that would take time which i cant spare a whole lot of
Thanks for your response mate
